Thinking Cap guide

Thinking Cap is the cleanest Skill Check upgrade in the Store: it widens the window by a flat 40 units, close to one extra star, since each star is worth 50 units. A 1-star Toon goes from 50 to 90 units (80% more), a 3-star Toon from 150 to 190 and a 5-star Toon from 250 to 290 (16% more), so a fixed bonus helps the narrowest windows the most. The effect text lists no downside.

That is why the numbers point at a clear group of buyers. Blot, Cosmo and Shrimpo have 1 star in Skill Check, as does Bassie from the Easter event, and for them 40 units is a bigger jump than any other Skill Check Trinket offers. Anyone learning the timing on any Toon gets the same cushion.

It is a Store Trinket with two requirements: 750 Ichor and finishing 30 Machines. No Research on a Twisted is involved, which makes it one of the earliest Skill Check purchases within reach, and it is still on sale today. Compare it with Magnifying Glass, which narrows the window, or Paint Bucket, which adds only 10%: here the bonus is a fixed amount that does not shrink as stars go up.
