Magnifying Glass guide

Magnifying Glass trades window width for a flat bonus on every hit. A successful Skill Check adds 1.75 points of Skill Check value no matter which Toon you play or which zone you land in, which the wiki equates to roughly 2.5 stars on a scale that runs from 1 to 3. The cost is a Skill Check window that is 33% narrower: a 5-star Toon drops from 250 units to 167.5, and a 1-star Toon from 50 to 33.5.

The trade only makes sense for Toons that already have room to spare. Even at 167.5 units, Shelly, Gigi, Waxwell, Gourdy and Soulvester (all 5 stars in Skill Check) keep a wider window than a 3-star Toon has with no Trinket at all, which is 150. Blot, Cosmo and Shrimpo, at 1 star, would be left with a sliver they can barely hit.

To get it you need 100% Research on Twisted Rodger, an Uncommon Twisted (spawn weight 25 against 75 for Commons at the start of a run). Each Research Capsule gives 1% and the first encounter on a floor gives 5%, or 10% if you play Rodger himself. There is no Ichor price, and you can claim it today.
