Where Halt appears
Halt guide
Halt does not chase you; it keeps ordering you to turn around. It is a large translucent blue ghost with glowing cyan eyes and a waveform body, and it lives in The Dining Hall in The Hotel and in The Bridges in The Mines. Contact deals 60 damage.
What happens in the room
When you open the next door there is a chance that every player is pulled into the encounter room, lit only by Halt's eyes. The room is dark and filled with monotone static, and both you and Halt gradually speed up while the pitch of the ambience rises. Halt starts behind you, teleports in front of you and flashes "TURN AROUND", then returns behind you and repeats this until you reach the far end. If you get too close it flashes "RUN AWAY". The Dining Hall is a long room of tables and plants; The Bridges has three sections of three bridges each, two of them broken or blocked.
Beating it
You do not need to turn around: walking backwards also works and takes less time. Halt gets faster the closer you are to the exit door, and it despawns when you leave the room. Its chance of appearing is almost guaranteed in The Hotel and guaranteed in The Mines, once per run. A Crucifix banishes it but forces you out of the room, except in The Bridges.
