Treaters guide
The Treaters are the knock-on-the-door crowd of the 2025 Trick Or Treat event, which ran from October 23 to December 1, 2025 and was re-added as a vision on February 5, 2026. Each one is a black humanoid silhouette with a white sheet-ghost overlaid on top, with many faces and sizes and occasional green, purple or teal recolors. The wiki lists them as neutral and notes they are particle effects, not 2D entities.
Knocking
Each Treater lives behind a door in its house. Knock, and there is a chance it opens. Most often it drops 1 to 4 Candy. Uncommonly it jumpscares you instead, applying Hide's effect so you cannot hide, and that hit deals 15 damage. Rarely it does not open at all. In multiplayer, a door opened or a candy used by one player adds to everyone's counter. Knocking on 30 doors earns the "Trick Or Treat!" badge.
Odd details
Treaters never leave their houses and may have unlimited candy. Their designs include nods to Don't Starve and Undertale. In the 2026 Candy Vault event they are reused, but behave like the Drones of The Archives.
