Weirdo

Weirdo is one of the rarest things you can see in DOORS, and the community called it Shadow until The Archives Update revealed its official name. It is an all-black, lanky humanoid with long arms and legs. When you open a door it can show up for a single second, vanish with a rough sound and make the lights flicker. That is the whole effect, a jumpscare with no damage.

How rare it is

The exact chance is unknown, but it is likely in the range of 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 20,000 per door, which is why you can finish many runs without seeing it. Its spawn was once thought to be 1 in 2,000 before being corrected to 1 in 10,000. It can appear in any new room except Door 99 and The Electrical Room, even during or right after Seek's chase. Rush, Gloombats and Seek can trigger it by opening a door.

Little facts

Players cannot interact with it in any way, and a developer has said that it will never get its own achievement. Its sound is a fire-crackling clip slowed to a tenth of its speed with distortion, and the pitch changes each time. In a dark room it can leave the room lit while still counted as dark, so Screech can spawn. Sometimes it appears as a white gradient rectangle because of a decal loading issue.
