Eyes

Eyes punish curiosity. It is a neutral but dangerous entity, a cluster of 38 colored eyes inside a purple or blue aura shaped like one giant eye, and it has a 3% chance to spawn each time you open a door to a new room. After a short grace period it damages any player who looks at it.

How much it hurts

It deals between 3 and 10 damage per tick, and the amount depends on where it sits on your screen: the closer to the center, the more damage. Its range is very large, so you can be hurt from the farthest room that has not been deleted. In The Mines Eyes can also teleport in front of you. It despawns when the next door is opened, though it can spawn twice in a row.

Avoiding it

When you hear its spawn cue, look down or away from the purple light and open the next door. It does not damage you while you hide, climb a ladder, sit in a cutscene, are held by Screech or Giggle, are stuck on a Snare or are being attacked by Dupe. It cannot appear in The Reception, The Library, The Electrical Room or during Seek's crescendo. Do not waste a Crucifix on it unless Void appears at the same time. If you lag in multiplayer, keep looking down and let a teammate open the door.
