Where Seek appears
Seek guide
Seek is a mass of black, slime-like goo covered in eyes that reshapes itself as needed: a small puddle, a one-eyed humanoid, long grabbing arms. It debuted on August 10, 2022, and it appears in The Hotel and The Mines. In the Lobby only its Eyes and Goop show up.
How a chase works
Seek does not really follow you. It runs along a path toward the next door, and anyone left behind its current room dies. Before a Hotel chase there is a crescendo of two to five rooms: the lights flicker, eyes multiply on the walls and paintings read "This isn't a painting." Players get a speed boost during the chase, so Seek always runs slower than you, and Moonlight marks the correct path. A Crucifix only slows it for a few seconds, and a closet will not save you, because Seek kills players hiding inside.
The Dam
The Mines end at The Dam, where Seek floods the reservoir and you must turn 11 valves across three phases. Goop deals 5 damage per tick and Hands deal 20, with a red glow showing where they will strike. Sludge and Worm kill instantly. Keep moving, since the Worm lands where you were standing, not where you are.
