Laser Pointer

The Laser Pointer once held the longest fuel time in the game, 4 minutes 10 seconds, until The Great Outdoors Update cut it to 1 minute 20 seconds, split into 8 bars of 10 seconds. A single battery refills it fully.

It is a Directional Light Source and a Dependant Item that draws a thin red beam at your crosshair. Its range is effectively unlimited and can reach up to five rooms ahead. On September 1, 2024 it received a buff that widened its illumination.

Where it appears

It is not sold in any shop. It spawns in The Mines and The Archives, most often in the second vine-covered chest you open, and also in toolboxes and lockers. It can be found as early as Door 105 in the open or Door 100.5 inside a locked Item Locker. Found naturally, it can start with only 23.33 seconds of fuel.

Good and bad

• It does not attract Gloombats, can be used in Firedamp rooms and keeps working when wet or underwater.
• It can stun Giggle, and also lets you point out items or routes to teammates.
• It only works on high graphics; on low graphics it emits no light.
• It lights only the spot where the beam lands and cannot slow Grumble.
• Figure is drawn to the player while it is in use.
