Rift Jar guide

A Rift Jar lets you open a rift wherever you throw it. It is a transparent jar with no label and a miniature Moonlight Rift inside, sealed with a brown cork engraved with Guiding Light's crescent moon in pale blue. When it hits the ground it shatters and leaves a rift, along with Curious Light's rift if you have it. It arrived with The Great Outdoors Update.

You make one by placing a Tip Jar in Guiding Light's Rift. The Tip Jar can be found in the Abandoned Jeff's Shop mid-run rift room in The Hotel, which needs a Skeleton Key. The other route is Louie: a Crucifix used on him can drop a Rift Jar, and that is the only way he gives this item.

Why it is useful

  • It is the only Guiding Light item that works in subfloors.
  • It lets you rift a rare item mid-run, so risking death is not a worry.
  • Other players can use the rift it opens.
  • It glows blue when held, dropped and thrown, so it doubles as a light source.

Thrown at players

A direct hit knocks a player back and ragdolls them briefly, and it can stun Giggle. It is a single use and only one fits in your inventory. Louie gives a Gween Soda 50% of the time for one.
