Black Scabbardfish guide
Black Scabbardfish is a Mythical catch from Collapsed Ruins, and its conditions are narrow. Bring Squid bait, fish at Night, wait for Windy weather, and do it in Autumn or Winter. The wiki describes an extremely long, slender body like a ribbon, with fanged jaws.
Its stats place it in the upper-middle of the whole catalogue. An average sale of C$2,675 is 235th of 742 documented fish, and it pays a healthy 3,170 base XP. In weight it ranges from 50 kg to 420 kg, averaging 125 kg, which makes its maximum 197th of 663 fish with a recorded maximum.
There are no same-rarity fish listed in its zone and no rod sold there in the data, so nothing else competes for the same slot. That makes it the Mythical you plan around when you are at Collapsed Ruins. The wide set of conditions is the real cost: you need a Windy Autumn or Winter night, and if you miss it, you wait. My advice is to treat it as a XP target first and a sale second, since the base XP is the stronger of its two rewards.
