Caustic Starwyrm
“The Caustic Starwyrm is a colossal storm-born variant of the Spectral Serpent, rarely observed outside the deepest layers of the Brine Pool during a Brine Storm. Its Translucent Exo-membrane is threaded with star-like bioluminescent nodes that pulse in slow radial patterns along its body, illuminating vast sections of the abyss as it moves. the brine surrounding the Starwyrm becomes visibly unstable, forming luminous eddies that persist long after it has passed.”— in-game Bestiary description

Caustic Starwyrm guide
Caustic Starwyrm is a Secret-rarity fish of the Brine Pool, described as a colossal storm-born variant of the Spectral Serpent that is rarely seen outside the deepest layers during a Brine Storm. To catch it you need Truffle Worm or Acidic Larva bait, Night and Rain.
The scale is enormous. It weighs between 21,000 kg and 46,200 kg, averaging 21,500 kg, and that maximum ranks 60th of 663. Per kg it pays only C$1.98, but the mass carries the average to C$42,598.30, which is 45th of the 742 documented fish, in the top tenth. Base XP is 32,870.
The one rod sold in the Brine Pool is the Brine-infused Rod, so the zone supports a local option for gear.
The flavor text adds that its Translucent Exo-membrane carries star-like glowing nodes that pulse along its body.
Verdict: this is a top-end target. If you have the right bait and a rainy night, a single catch can outpay most fish many times over, and the XP is just as significant. Do not expect it often, but plan your Brine Pool sessions around these conditions.
