Ancient Kraken guide

At Secret rarity, the Ancient Kraken is one of the heaviest catches you can plan for. It sits in Atlantis, comes at Night, and wants a Shark Head. It is tagged as a Hunt fish, and no weather or season is listed.

The numbers are huge. An average Ancient Kraken weighs 175,000 kg, with a range from 100,000 up to 525,000 kg, ranking 33rd of 663 by max weight. The price per kilo is only C$0.176, but the weight carries it to an average sale of C$30,800, 54th of 742 by average value. Base XP is 22,000.

Atlantis also sells four rods, so you can gear up on the spot: Abyssal Specter Rod, Champions Rod, Depthseeker Rod and Tempest Rod.

The wiki calls it a direct descendant of the original Kraken, with a fraction of its progenitor's power.

Verdict: treat it as a long-term target. If you get one, the C$30,800 is substantial, but the 22,000 XP is reason enough to prepare Shark Heads before you go.
