Tropical Bait Crate guide

Tropical Bait Crate is not a fish at all but a Rare catch from Cursed Isle that you pull up with Magnet bait. The wiki describes a weathered wooden crate with tropical leaves, built to keep bait fresh. Every one weighs exactly 8 kg, so there is no range to hope for.

It sells for about C$80 at C$10 per kg, which is 603 of 742 documented fish by average value; the fixed 8 kg ranks 493 of 663 for maximum weight. Base XP is 50. Those are weak numbers for a Rare.

Hollowfin is the only other Rare catch listed in the zone, and the Great Dreamer Rod is the rod sold there. Time of day, weather and season do not matter.

Verdict: do not chase it for profit. A crate at C$80 is worth less than almost any fish of its rarity, and 50 XP is small. If one comes up while you are fishing Cursed Isle with Magnet, it is fine as a quick sale, but it does not justify a special trip or a change of plans.
