Dead Man's Rod review
Spending 5,000,000C$ at Ancient Archives buys Dead Man's Rod, a plain rod with no passive and no level gate. The payoff is Luck 300, 8th of 184 obtainable rods, and Lure Speed 100, 21st of 184. Control 0.1 sits 76th of 185 and Resilience 20 sits 77th of 184, both right in the middle.
The catch is that one other rod matches its Luck for a tiny fraction of the cost: Cinder Block Rod has 300 Luck for C$50,000. That is a hundred times cheaper, so the extra 4,950,000 coins you pay here are hard to justify on Luck alone.
Ancient Archives also stocks Anchor n' Chain, Elder Mossripper, Cupid's Embrace, Lucid Rod and Precision Rod, so you can browse the room before committing.
The honest verdict: Dead Man's Rod is a luxury purchase. It is excellent on paper and fine to own if you have the coins to burn. If you are still building up money, put the 5 million toward progression instead, and use the cheaper rod for the same Luck.
