Cupid's Embrace review
Cupid's Embrace is a bargain at Ancient Archives: 15,000C$ for Luck 214, which ranks 45th of 184 obtainable rods. It has no passive and no level requirement, so you can buy it as soon as you reach the zone. The rest is solid too: its maximum weight of 225,000 kg is 22nd of 117, Control 0.1 is 76th of 185, Lure Speed 70 is 97th of 184, and Resilience 14 is 125th of 184.
One rod beats it on Luck for less: View Smasher has 230 Luck for C$0. If you can get that one, it is the better pick on paper, but for a rod you can simply purchase in a shop, Cupid's Embrace is hard to argue with at this price.
Its neighbours in Ancient Archives are Anchor n' Chain, Elder Mossripper, Dead Man's Rod, Lucid Rod and Precision Rod, and all of them are priced differently, so check the cost column before spending.
For heavy fish on a budget, this is one of the easier buys to recommend.
