The Newt is a Rare-tier pet introduced during the Summer Camp Event in Grow a Garden, obtained by hatching a Campfire Egg with a 35.5% probability — the highest hatch rate among the event pets in that egg pool, making it the most accessible Summer Camp companion for most players. With 10,000 hunger, it is reasonably easy to maintain, and its abilities center on harvest multiplication.

## Abilities

Renewtal gives the Newt a passive chance to duplicate any harvested plant, effectively letting you collect two crops from one harvest cycle without additional seeds or watering. Summer Harvester elevates this effect specifically for Summer-type plants, granting an increased duplication chance when those crops are collected.

This combination makes the Newt reliable during summer seasons or when you deliberately fill your garden with summer-category crops to maximize the boosted odds.

## Strategy

Because the Newt does not require a specific mutation on the fruit to trigger its ability — just a normal harvest — it works seamlessly alongside any other pet focused on mutations. Stack your garden with Summer plants during summer-themed events: both abilities will fire more frequently when the harvest pool is large.
