With 10,000 hunger, it matches other Summer Camp event pets in maintenance cost, keeping upkeep simple despite its elevated rarity.

## Ability

Its sole ability, Call of the Night, works by periodically consuming a fruit carrying the Moonlit mutation from your garden — importantly, it ignores favorited fruits, so precious crops marked as favorites are always safe. In exchange, the Nightjar applies a Small XP Boost and a Small Passive Boost to a random pet. The mechanic becomes significantly stronger when the consumed fruit also carries the Bloodlit mutation: in that case the boost upgrades to a Large Passive Boost, dramatically increasing the benefit.

## Strategy

The Nightjar functions as a dedicated support pet in any garden seeded with Moonlit (and ideally Bloodlit) fruits. Pair it with a pet that applies the Moonlit mutation to ensure a steady supply of activation targets, then allow Bloodlit conditions to stack on the same fruits for the amplified Large Passive Boost. The more moon-affected fruits in your plot, the more frequently the Nightjar can fire. At 9% hatch odds from the Campfire Egg, securing this pet during the Summer Camp Event will require patience or multiple egg attempts, but its sustained party-boosting value makes it a worthwhile investment for support-oriented garden builds.
