The Astrophysics badge is a three-step crafting chore worth 5 diamonds at 1-star difficulty: you must craft, place, and finally open an Obsidiron Chest. The reward is unlocked only when that last step completes, so simply building the chest is not enough; it has to be deployed in the world and looted.

Obsidiron is a high-tier meteor material, which means this badge sits behind the same progression wall as other meteor-anvil content. You will need enough refined obsidiron to craft the chest itself, then a clear, safe spot to place it before opening. Because placement is a physical object in the world, drop it somewhere defensible near your base so a passing threat does not interrupt the sequence.

Tip: line up the obsidiron materials in advance and do all three actions back-to-back in one safe window. Since the chest yields its own loot when opened, this badge effectively pays you twice, the 5 diamonds plus whatever the chest contains, making it one of the more efficient 1-star objectives to tick off during a stable late-game night.
