Hunter โ€” In-Depth Analysis

The Hunter badge is one of the easiest in 99 Nights in the Forest, rated just 1 star and paying out 5 diamonds. The requirement is to collect 50 Pelt drops from animals: Bunny, Wolf, Alpha Wolf, Bear, Polar Bear and Arctic Fox. Pelts only drop occasionally rather than from every kill, so the real obstacle is volume, not skill.

The smartest route is to hunt the open forest constantly during the day, prioritizing Wolves and Alpha Wolves since packs spawn in clusters and let you rack up kills fast. Bunnies are trivial to catch but yield pelts less reliably, so treat them as filler between larger hunts. A simple spear or knife is enough early; an axe or any melee weapon also works.

Because the count is cumulative across the run, you do not need a single perfect night. Just keep hunting whenever you pass animals while gathering wood, food or escorting children, and the 50 pelts will accumulate naturally over several in-game days. Carry your kills back toward camp so you stay safe at night, and avoid wasting durability on tougher beasts like the Polar Bear unless you are confident.
