Exogeology

The Exogeology badge tasks you with defeating 20 Meteor Crabs, and at 1-star difficulty with a 5-diamond reward it is one of the more approachable combat badges in 99 Nights in the Forest — provided you know where these enemies actually come from.

Meteor Crabs are tied to meteor events: they spawn from fallen meteors that crash into the map, so the badge naturally requires patience and attentiveness rather than raw skill. You cannot farm them on demand the way you can with common forest mobs, which is the only real friction here. Keep an eye out for incoming meteors, head toward the crash site promptly, and clear the crabs before they scatter or despawn.

Bring a reliable melee weapon and a little healing — individually the crabs are not overwhelming, but a meteor can drop several at once and they can chip you down if you are careless. Because the count of 20 accumulates across your whole save, you do not need to finish it in a single event; just commit to clearing every meteor you encounter and the badge will tick over within a few sessions.
