Bear Trap

The Bear Trap is a craftable Defensive Blueprint, putting it in the same family as walls and barbed wire but with a sharper, more active role. Rather than just slowing enemies, a placed trap snaps shut on whatever steps into it, locking the target in place and dealing damage so your team can punish it freely. That crowd-control effect is what separates it from passive defenses.

Because it lives under Crafting and Craftable Items, you build the Bear Trap rather than loot it ready-made, which means committing resources at a crafting station instead of hoping for a chest drop. The payoff is a reusable choke tool you can position deliberately along the paths entities take toward your campfire, turning a predictable approach lane into a kill zone.

Is it worth grabbing? For any base-defense setup, yes. A trap placed at a doorway or bridge stops a charging enemy cold and lets melee players land free hits or buys time to revive a downed teammate. It shines most when paired with barbed wire and walls to funnel the night rush into one controlled spot. Roaming, hit-and-run teams will get less from it, since traps only earn their keep where enemies are forced to walk.
