Boost Pad
Item in 99 Nights in the Forest
About
The Boost Pad is a craftable that can be made using a level 3 Crafting Bench in 99 Nights in the Forest. It can be charged by holding the Interact button for roughly 5 seconds. It applies the same speed boost as the Chili, increasing your speed to roughly triple the speed of regular sprinting. Toggling sprint doesn't change your movement speed while under the effects of the boost pad. While under the effects of the Boost Pad, the player leaves behind white particle effects. When the boost pad isn't charged, it turns light red, with arrows turning a deeper red.
Boost Pad — In-Depth Analysis
The Boost Pad is a placeable craftable in 99 Nights in the Forest, and unlike most scrap or food items it is a pure utility tool built for mobility. You unlock it at a Level 3 Crafting Bench, which means it is a mid-game investment rather than something you can spam from day one.
What makes it useful is the speed it grants. Once placed, you charge the pad by holding the Interact button for roughly 5 seconds, after which it delivers the same rush as eating a Chili — pushing you to roughly triple your normal sprint speed. Crucially, toggling sprint on or off does not change that boosted velocity, so you keep the full effect regardless of your run state, trailing white particle effects while it lasts. When the pad is spent it turns light red with deeper red arrows, signaling it needs recharging.
For survival, the Boost Pad shines as fixed infrastructure rather than a panic button. Set one along a frequent route — between your base and a resource node, or near a chokepoint — and you gain fast repositioning to dodge mobs, reach downed teammates, or sprint home before nightfall. It is well worth crafting once your bench hits Level 3.
