Abandoned Sawmill — In-Depth Analysis
The Abandoned Sawmill is a structure in 99 Nights in the Forest built around a wood-reinforced, two-story house with blue roofs, wooden pillars, windows with blinds and a toilet attached to one side. Facing the house is the sawmill itself, which can be activated: it has the same blue roof held up by wooden pillars, a stone base where the blade lies, a wooden ramp beside the blade and a split yellow helmet on the ground underneath. Its listed loot is a chest, and its listed inhabitant is a wolf.
Inside, the ground floor starts with a long hallway and a single door, with one item near that door. Behind it is a room of the same size where a wolf or an alpha wolf is guaranteed, depending on the forest level. The room also has a row of lockers that can hold loot (not every locker contains something), a ladder facing them, two tables, three or four chairs and another item on a table. The ladder leads to the second floor, where a chest is guaranteed and its rarity scales with your progress. That floor also has a fence, a table, two or three chairs and a shelf with a few items. An open notebook on the table tells of a worker named Jerry who left with the last flashlight helmet and never returned.
To switch the sawmill on, chop down the vines with a good axe or a stronger one. It can only be turned on once and shuts off after two to three minutes. A log placed on the saw is converted into two planks, which you can use on the crafting bench or the campfire.
