Its loot is short but focused — 5 Coal plus a Chest — which makes it a specialist stop rather than a general supply run. Coal is a high-value fuel and crafting resource, so a guaranteed batch of five from a single site is a strong, predictable return for players who know they need it.

What sets the Mineshaft apart is its layout. Rather than a single room, it is a tunnel structure that you push into, with coal sometimes tucked deeper inside and a chest waiting at the end of the dig. That depth is also the catch: heading into a confined tunnel commits you, leaving little room to retreat if something is following you in, and the enclosed space limits your escape routes if a predator or rival catches you mid-loot.

With no fixed inhabitants, the shaft itself is unguarded, so the real danger is positioning and timing. Treat it as a targeted run: go in when you specifically need coal, clear the tunnel to the end chest, and back out before the night traps you underground.
