Hydra Leader

Description

Dropped by the Hydra Leader on Hydra Island, the Venom Bow is one of the harder legendary guns to obtain — the Hydra Leader is no pushover, and players will likely need a solid build and a fair amount of patience before it drops. As a gun, it scales with the Gun stat rather than Sword, so investing mastery points here pays off as you land hits and unlock the weapon's full kit. Its three moves — Viper Barb, Venomous Spit, and Serpent Bite — all lean into a poison-and-strike theme that fits the Hydra Island aesthetic. The legendary rarity signals strong base damage, making it a genuine option for players pushing through the late Second Sea or building into Third Sea content. If you are farming the Hydra Leader specifically for this bow, teaming up speeds the process considerably and reduces the risk of losing progress to an unexpected death.

Moves & Abilities

3 moves
TAP
Viper Barb

The user fires a venomous shot that deals damage, applies a poison effect that inflicts damage four times after the shot, and does small knockback to the enemy.

Z
Venomous Spit
Mastery 125

The user fires 3 fast, purple projectiles from their bow. They explodes in a purple blast upon contact with an enemy or surface, and deals instantaneous damage and poison damage, breaking Instinct in one hit. Once the projectiles explode, three smaller purple arrows will come out from the explosion and chase after the nearest enemy. The arrows are very fast and hard to outrun.

X
Serpent Bite
Mastery 250

The user fires multiple medium-speed purple projectiles which, upon contact with an enemy, deal some damage and stun them for a short period of time, making them unable to Flash Step, dash or use any moves (this still applies even if the enemy turns on Instinct after being hit by the move).

Trivia

10
  • 1[Z] Venomous Spit drains Instinct dodges really fast, and [X] Serpent Bite is a good stun. Both moves are good even without Gun stats.
  • 2Venom Bow's M1 deals significantly more damage compared to other Guns. The only Gun that surpasses it is the Acidum Rifle. However, Venom Bow's M1 is faster, so it can do more damage over time.
  • 3The Venom Bow functions similarly to Acidum Rifle, with it dealing low damage at the start and then dealing poison damage that deals more damage per tick than the initial damage.
  • 4The Venom Bow does not turn black when Aura is active, though Aura colors still appear.
  • 5The design of Venom Bow is a curved Hydra with a bowstring.
  • 6The Venom Bow is the first and only "bow" to be added in the game.
  • 7Despite it being a bow, the Venom Bow is still in the gun category.
  • 8The [Z] move of the Venom Bow is used by the Dragon Crew Archers.
  • 9Serpent Bow was remodeled, revamped, and renamed to Venom Bow.
  • 10[Z] Poisonous Blast was renamed to [Z] Venomous Spit.

Venom Bow — In-Depth Analysis

What Is the Venom Bow?

The Venom Bow is a legendary gun dropped by the Hydra Leader on Hydra Island in the Third Sea. As one of the few guns at legendary rarity, it occupies a distinct niche in the Blox Fruits weapon ecosystem — it scales from the gun stat rather than the sword stat, making it the weapon of choice for dedicated gun-build players reaching the Third Sea.

Role and Performance

The Venom Bow's core identity is its poison-damage-over-time effect: on top of direct damage, it continuously deals DoT that prevents Instinct from regenerating, a meaningful pressure tool in PvP. The second part of one of its moves auto-aims, which smooths out the accuracy requirement considerably. The explosion on that move can also break Instinct directly.

The upgrade materials are notably easy to gather, making it one of the more accessible legendary guns to bring to full Grade. Short cooldowns let you cycle moves quickly into combos.

Weaknesses: Rubber users are completely immune to the weapon's damage — a critical blind spot. Despite good range on paper, it struggles to hit airborne targets reliably, auto-aim activates only once per use, and each move is single-target.

- Best suited for gun-build grinders in the Third Sea and as a combo tool in structured PvP. - The DoT mechanic pairs well with any build that benefits from sustained pressure over burst.

Tip: Prioritize upgrading Venom Bow to Grade 1+ early — the easy upgrade materials make this one of the most cost-effective legendary power spikes available.
