Firecrest guide
Firecrest is a good example of why rarity labels do not guarantee money. It carries the Extinct rarity and lives in Emberreach, but it averages just C$32.9 per fish, at C$0.131 per kg, and gives only 23 base XP. Among 742 documented fish it ranks 690th by average value.
The weight tells a different story: 144 kg minimum, 252 kg average and up to 756 kg, 179th of 663 by maximum weight. It is a big, heavy fish that is nearly worthless by the kilogram.
The conditions are narrow. You need Ember Berries, Night, Rain and Summer, and it is currently obtainable. Obsidian Koi and Glowfin Skipper share its zone and rarity, so compare them before spending bait: they are the other Extinct fish there.
The verdict is simple. Catch Firecrest only if you want the entry or are already fishing Emberreach in summer rain at night. As a way to earn C$ it is among the worst documented, and its XP is low too, so it does not justify building a session around its weather window.
