Profane Ray

You cannot catch the Profane Ray today. It was a Limited fish from Cults Curse, marked Unobtainable, so what remains is its record: a huge ray with an unholy glow whose wings cast silhouettes over the silence.

Its stats were big. It weighed 110 kg at minimum and 590 kg at most, averaging 200 kg, and it sold for C$16.05 per kg, which makes an average specimen worth C$3,210. It also paid 1,500 base XP. No bait, time of day, weather or season was required. Among the 742 documented fish it ranks 216th by average value, and 184th of 663 by maximum weight.

In the same zone and rarity, the documented neighbors are Abyssal Maw, Bloodscript Eel, Eldritch Spineback, Hollow Gazer, The Whispering One and Veilborn Parasite, so Cults Curse clearly had a crowded Limited roster.

If you own one already, the practical question is whether to keep it. At about C$3,210 it is worth more than most of the documented fish, but since it can no longer be replaced, that is a reason to hold it as a collectible instead of selling it. If you do not own one, there is nothing to chase, and you are better off spending effort on fish you can actually obtain.
