The Whispering One guide
The Whispering One belonged to Cults Curse and is no longer obtainable. It was a Limited catch with no bait, weather, season or time restrictions on the wiki, which is unusual for a fish this valuable. The quote on its page, about a choir of voices muttering in the stillness, tells you what the designers were going for.
The stats are strong. It ran 500 to 3,000 kg (900 kg on average) and sold for about C$10,100, which is 123 of 742 documented fish by average value, and 128 of 663 by maximum weight. Base XP was 6,400. At C$10.70 per kg, the price rides on weight rather than on any special multiplier.
Its zone mates of the same rarity were Abyssal Maw, Bloodscript Eel, Eldritch Spineback, Hollow Gazer, Profane Ray and Veilborn Parasite, so Cults Curse was a set of Limited fish, not a lone prize.
If one is in your inventory, it is a keeper. A C$10,100 sale is a poor use of something you cannot catch again. Sell only if you need the money.
