Racing stripes give it away: Fast Rod is a quick rod sold in Moosewood for C$4,000. Its Lure Speed of 70 ranks 97th of 184 obtainable rods, which is middle of the pack but well beyond the starter tier, and bites arrive noticeably sooner than on the free rod.

Elsewhere it is less impressive. Luck is 10 (174th of 184), Control 0.05 sits at 112th of 185 and Resilience of -5 is 173rd of 184, so large fish will push you around. The weight cap of 175 kg is 104th of 117 rods that list one. This is a rod for catching a lot of small and medium fish quickly, not for hunting rarities.

Price matters here. For luck you can do much better for less: Friendly Rod (luck 105, C$0), Decayed Rod (luck 40, C$2,000) and Long Rod (luck 80, C$3,000) all match or exceed its Luck while costing the same or less. Moosewood also has Flimsy Rod, Crew Rod, Lucky Rod and Haunted Rod nearby.

Buy the Fast Rod only if shaving seconds off every cast is your priority, for example while farming a fixed route. If you want rarer fish, skip it and put the C$4,000 toward a luck rod.
