Kraken Rod review
The Kraken Rod lives in Atlantis, at the Kraken Pool, and costs C$950,000. Its description says it was crafted from a Kraken tentacle and that its power guarantees mythical catches, while the curse brings mutated specimens and doubles your haul. It also adds a +2 disturbance modifier.
The stats back up the high price on Luck and weight. 185 Luck ranks 54th of 184 obtainable rods, and its 115,000 kg cap is 30th of 117. Lure Speed of 60 is 112th, Control of 0.2 is 29th of 185 and Resilience of 15 is 105th.
You can find cheaper rods with equal or more Luck: Challenger's Rod (190 Luck, C$750,000), Cerulean Fang Rod (190 Luck, C$800,000) and Cinder Block Rod (300 Luck, C$50,000). So the Kraken Rod is not the efficient choice for Luck alone.
Its case rests on the passive and the Atlantis setting. Buy it if you want the mutation and double-haul effects, and you are already comfortable spending nearly a million. Otherwise the cheaper rods give you the same Luck for far less.
