New Years Rod review
New Years Rod was sold by the New Years Merchant for C$20,260, a price that nods to the year, and it is now unobtainable. It has no passive and no description in the entry, so the stats are all there is to go on.
The stat line is built around the number 26: 26 Lure Speed, 126 Luck, 0.26 Control, 26 Resilience and a 26,000 kg weight cap. The theme is clearly deliberate, and the 126 Luck is the most useful part, above average for the price.
It is not a standout even so. Cupid's Embrace (214 Luck, C$15,000), Lucky Rod (177 Luck, C$4,500) and Fortune Rod (200 Luck, C$11,000) all offer more Luck for less money, and they are rods you can still buy. So the New Years Rod was never the efficient pick, only a themed one.
Because it cannot be obtained, no decision is left to make. It makes sense only as a record of a past New Year offering, with balanced but unspectacular numbers. If you want a comparable or better Luck score today, those cheaper rods are where to look.
