Nico's Yarncaster review
Nico's Yarncaster comes from the Crazy Cat Lady NPC as a quest reward, with no price listed. Its description says a kitty trots by your side and sneakily snags extra fish when you are not looking, with extra power if you have a clownfish cat toy. It carries a passive.
The numbers are middle-of-the-road. 65 Lure Speed ranks 107th of 184 obtainable rods and 75 Luck ranks 131st. Control of 0.1 is 76th of 185, 35 Resilience is 41st of 184, and the 10,000 kg cap is 61st of 117. Resilience is the best part, comfortably above average.
The charm is the cat: extra fish while you fish means more catches without extra effort, which matters more than the raw stats suggest. The clownfish cat toy adds more power, so it is worth collecting if you have one.
This is a casual, enjoyable reward rather than a Luck upgrade. If you want rare fish quickly, other rods do better. If you enjoy a companion that adds catches and you can finish the Crazy Cat Lady quest, it is a fun addition to your collection, and it costs nothing.
