Summit Rod review

The Summit Rod costs C$500,000 and is found at Northern Expedition (Cryogenic Canal). It is a high price for a rod whose best number is Control 0.25, 15th of 185 obtainable rods.

Everything else is middle of the road. Luck 75 is 131st of 184, Lure Speed 45 is 139th, Resilience 15 is 105th, and the 200,000 kg limit is 23rd of 117. The description only mentions snow-white highlights and blue effects, so beyond the passive flag there is little to say about how it plays.

The price is the problem. Champions Rod (Luck 130, C$90,000), Brick Rod (Luck 75, C$13,337) and Carrot Rod (Luck 125, C$75,000) each match or beat its Luck for far less. Brick Rod, in fact, ties it at 75 for roughly 3% of the cost.

Verdict: buy it only if tight Control and a high weight cap are exactly what you need and C$500,000 is spare change. If you simply want to catch more rare fish, spend that money on one of the three cheaper rods above and keep the difference.
