The stat spread is extreme. Lure Speed is 0, 174th of 184 obtainable rods, so bites are slow. But Control is 0.35 (9th of 185), Resilience is 35 (41st of 184) and Luck is 75 (131st). In practice you will wait longer for a bite, then rarely lose the fight.

Price is where it lands. Friendly Rod gives Luck 105 for C$0, Lucky Rod gives Luck 177 for C$4,500 and Long Rod gives Luck 80 for C$3,000. All of them beat Brick Rod on Luck for less, so you are not paying C$13,337 for performance.

Buy it as a curiosity, for the passive, or for the secret-location hunt. If you want to progress, skip it: Lucky Rod costs about a third as much and has more than double the Luck. Brick Rod is for players who like odd gear and have spare C$.
