Coral Rod

Coral Rod is sold at Coral Bastion for C$30,000. The in-game text calls it a living coral rod grown rather than crafted, with a 50% chance to grant the Coral mutation. The data also lists a Disturbance of +1, a Progress Speed of 10 and a Hunt Focus of Reef Titan.

The stat line is Luck 74, Lure Speed 72, Control 0.02, Resilience 40 and a maximum weight of 10,000 kg. Lure Speed ranks 96th of 184 obtainable rods, so it is a bit above average for pace. Resilience of 40 is 30th, which is good, and the weight limit is 61st of 117. Luck is 137th and Control 139th, both low.

For finding rare fish, other rods do more. Brick Rod gives Luck 75 for C$13,337, Friendly Rod gives Luck 105 for C$0, and Cupid's Embrace gives Luck 214 for C$15,000. Every one of them beats Coral Rod's Luck for less money.

The reason to choose it is the mutation chance and the Reef Titan hunt focus, which fit a player working that part of the map. Buy it if you want to farm Coral mutations at a steady pace and already fish Coral Bastion. If rarity is your goal, spend the C$30,000 on Cupid's Embrace first.
