Volcanic Rod review
Head to Volcanic Vents if you want the Volcanic Rod, which costs C$250,000. The description frames it as a rod that burns away impurities so only the most valuable catches remain, and it does carry a passive.
On paper it is a middle-tier rod for that price. Luck 90 ranks 115th of 184 obtainable rods, Lure Speed 30 is 154th, Control 0.1 is 76th of 185, Resilience 15 is 105th, and the 20,000 kg limit is 54th of 117. Nothing here stands in the top half except the Control and weight numbers, which only just clear it.
The cost comparison is the clearest part. Champions Rod (Luck 130, C$90,000), Carrot Rod (Luck 125, C$75,000) and Cinder Block Rod (Luck 300, C$50,000) all give more Luck for much less. The Cinder Block Rod offers more than three times the Luck at a fifth of the price.
Verdict: skip it unless you are collecting rods or specifically want its passive. For catching better fish, any of the three cheaper options above is a better use of C$250,000.
