About Summer Harvest Event
The Summer Harvest Event was a seasonal event that was introduced in Update 1.11.0 of Grow a Garden. It featured a complete overhaul of the Seed Shop with summer-themed plants and introduced a new activity where players can submit summer crops every hour to earn Harvest Points. These points grant various rewards, including past event items such as seeds, gear, and eggs.
Summer Harvest Event — In-Depth Analysis
The Summer Harvest Event (added in Update 1.11.0) overhauled the Seed Shop with summer plants and layered a submission minigame on top of normal farming. Its hook is a recurring cycle where every hour a 10-minute submission window opens, and players turn in Summer Crops for Harvest Points that unlock tiered rewards.
The point economy rewards mutation farming directly: a Gold mutation adds 2 points and a Rainbow mutation adds 3 points per crop, so quality matters as much as quantity. Reward tiers scale steeply, from Common at 10 points and Uncommon at 500, up to Rare at 2,000 and Legendary far beyond, which makes pre-window stockpiling essential rather than optional. The event is also notable as the only event to recycle rewards from past updates like the Lunar Glow, Bizzy Bee and Easter 2025 events.
The optimal play is hoarding: plant a dense block of fast crops, the community favorite being Tomatoes, which grow rapidly and stack easily even though Sugar Apples give more points each. Pair this with Pack Bees to buffer huge fruit reserves, then dump everything during the 10-minute window. Submitting nothing means zero rewards, so always bank crops before the timer hits.
