The Tanuki is a non-exclusive legendary pet pulled from the Zen Egg at a 20.82% chance, the highest odds among that egg's legendaries, which makes it a realistic target rather than a lottery dream. Modeled on the Japanese raccoon-dog Yōkai, its real worth is its randomized utility trait rather than raw stats.

Its Mischief ability triggers every ~10 minutes and randomly rolls one of six outcomes: granting a fruit the Chilled, Choc, or Moonlit mutation, giving itself XP, advancing a random pet's cooldown by 60 seconds, or paying out 300-1,000 Sheckles. Three of those six results are free mutations, which is the standout value, since mutations multiply sell price far beyond the small cash drop. The cooldown-reduction roll is also quietly powerful when paired with high-impact pets whose abilities you want firing more often.
