How to get Brutal Demon
Free to play (formerly Early Access). The Updates page lists 'Brutal Demon is now free to play' under October 22 2023.
Passives
Adrenaline Rush
Ultimate Gain: when the user takes damage, they gain about 50% of that damage as ultimate energy (wiki example: taking 100 points of damage gives 50 energy). As a result, Pumped Up needs 20% more (420 damage instead of the standard 350). Gaining ultimate from damage dealt by an opponent's ultimate mode only works if that attacker's awakening has already ended when the damage lands, with few exceptions.
Metal Bat
Listed as a passive in the infobox; the page describes it in the M1 row: the user wields a metal bat as a melee weapon, which changes how M1 damage is dealt.
Base moves
M1 Bat Swings โ Wiki M1 damage: 15%. The user attacks with a metal bat: three strikes, the last one knocks the opponent to the ground as a crushing attack (can still be blocked). Slow swing speed, slightly slow startup, and a slight increase in knockback on the uppercut.
- 1Homerun
The user swings the bat upward to launch the enemy into the air, then immediately hits them diagonally to the right with a forward motion.
- Cannot be blocked
- Can grab grounded opponents
- Gains Armor on a successful grab
- Finisher triggers at 14%: the opponent is launched, caught on the bat and slammed down, then sent flying; the landing crater deals 15% AoE and the final swing rolls nearby players instead of ragdolling
- Cooldown cell is a rowspan covering the variant row
- Homerun | Variant ยท 10% โ If the upward swing misses, the user dashes forward and slams the bat down hard.
15% | 22.5% (AoE) [7.5% (Windup) + 15% (Swing)]CD 17.7 seconds - 2Beatdown
The user dashes forward and hits the target six times with the bat while advancing slowly; after the last hit the opponent collapses into a ragdoll state.
- Can be blocked
- Can grab ragdolled mid-air and rolling opponents
- Gains Armor on a successful grab
- Can be countered
- Very fast startup plus range, so it can be used as a second forward dash (Pros)
- Finisher triggers at 16%: three bat strikes slam the opponent headfirst into the ground; each slam deals 12% with a huge AoE
16.3% | 17% (AoE) [5% (Barrage) + 12% (Slam)]CD 23 seconds - 3Grand Slam
The user leaps in an arc and slams the bat into the ground, creating a small crater. Standing enemies are sent flying into a ragdoll state, while already-ragdolled enemies simply roll away.
- Cannot be blocked
- Ragdolls standing and blocking opponents
- Applies a Rolling effect against ragdolled opponents
- Has AoE
- Can be countered
- Grants no Armor, so it can be countered at any point during the jump
- Finisher triggers at 13%: the user spins and slams the target a second time; the extra slam deals 17%
- Cooldown cell is a rowspan covering the variant row
- Grand Slam | Variant ยท 11% [10% (Slam) + 1% (Roll)] โ When the arcing aerial movement connects, the user stops in mid-air and slams the enemy into the ground; the enemy bounces, spins in place and then rolls away (knockback is delayed).
17% | 9.4% (Ragdolled)CD 20 seconds - 4Foul Ball
The user hops and hits the ground with the bat, launching a large chunk of debris forward that keeps travelling until it strikes a wall, the floor or an opponent.
- Causes the opponent to roll if they are ragdolled or blocking
- Deals AoE damage
- The projectile can be reflected
- On a miss it has the longest end lag of the base moves because of the projectile animation (Cons)
- Cooldown cell is a rowspan covering the variant row
- Foul Ball | Variant ยท 13.1% | 22% (AoE) [5% (Pounce) + 6% (Slam) + 11% (Swing)] โ If the initial strike connects, the user grabs the opponent, slams them into the ground and uses the rebound to launch them away with the bat.
15% | 16% (Ragdolled)CD 23 seconds
Awakening
G Pumped Up
Meter: 420 damage (standard 350 plus 20% from Adrenaline Rush, per the Brutal Demon page). The Strongest Hero page says 450 instead.
Duration: 47 Seconds
Activation: the user hits their own head three times with the bat, creating a shockwave that knocks nearby players over (up to 17.3%, scales with proximity to the animation). The kit then becomes Savage Tornado, Brutal Beatdown, Strength Difference and Death Blow. Previously named 'Fightin' Spirit' / 'Fighting Spirit'.
Awakening moves
- 1Savage Tornado
After a short wind-up the user spins three times to make three large tornadoes that sweep up opponents; the third lasts longer, and players caught keep taking damage unless they break the ragdoll state.
- Can be interrupted
- Cannot be blocked
- Multi-grab
- Armor during the attack
- During the wind-up it can be cancelled into Death Blow (this does not reset the cooldown)
23.5% [17% (Tornado) + 1.5% (Throw) + 5% (AoE)]CD 17 Seconds - 2Brutal Beatdown
The user taps the bat on the ground, catches it mid-air and unleashes a long combo that drags the opponent along, then a tornado launch and a leaping slam that makes a massive crater; the shockwave deals a flat 30% regardless of distance.
- Can be interrupted
- Cannot be blocked
- Multi-grab
- Armor during the attack
- Final hit can hit through Death Counter and Death Blow
- During the wind-up it can be cancelled into Death Blow (this does not reset the cooldown)
50% [20% (Full Barrage) + 30% (Final Hit)]CD 30 Seconds - 3Strength Difference
The user drags the bat along the ground, then lands a powerful diagonal strike that triggers a cutscene: the opponent is hit in the chest, launched, and sent flying while a shockwave forms around the user. If the opponent is KO'd by it they are launched even further, leaving a crater.
- Breaks block but deals reduced damage when blocked (similar to Fourfold Flashstrike)
- Armor during startup and cutscene
- Inescapable (cannot be ragdoll-cancelled) once the player is hit
65% | 43% (Blocked) | 45% (AoE) [25% (Lift) + 5% (Roll) + 15% (Shockwave)]CD 62 Seconds | 20 Seconds (Missed) - 4Death Blow
A counter: the user raises the bat in a defensive stance; if struck, they shove the opponent back and crush them into the ground in a cutscene.
- Can be used during the Savage Tornado and Brutal Beatdown wind-ups
- I-Frames during the cutscene
- Moves that bypass Death Counter also bypass Death Blow
- Awakening timer slows down during the cutscene
- High end-lag after the hit
- Trivia: deals 125% instead of an instant kill if the player is in a private server with a health multiplier
- Cooldown cell is a rowspan covering the variant row
- Death Blow Miss Variant ยท Up to 45% (scales with proximity to the slam, effective radius 4 squares) โ If no damage is taken after 2 seconds, or the enemy is at least 1.5 squares away while damaging the user, the user hits the ground with the bat and makes a large crater that breaks armor.

About Brutal Demon
Brutal Demon's awakening bar is the one place where the wiki cannot agree with itself. The Brutal Demon page says Pumped Up needs 420 damage, the standard 350 plus 20% because of its Adrenaline Rush passive, while The Strongest Hero page says 450. Either way it is the most expensive bar listed. Adrenaline Rush also turns about 50% of the damage you take into ultimate energy, so getting hit helps you fill it.
It is the fifth playable character, based on Metal Bat, and it was called Adrenaline Demon until October 1 2023. It became free to play on October 22 2023. The wiki says it is typically not beginner-friendly and is a character for advanced players.
The four base moves, all swung with the bat, are Homerun (15%, 17.7 seconds), Beatdown (16.3%, 23 seconds), Grand Slam (17%, 20 seconds) and Foul Ball (15%, 23 seconds). Together they total 61.4 damage, which the wiki's ranking puts ninth; the Cons list calls base damage low (10% to 17%) and cooldowns long. Pumped Up lasts 47 seconds and brings Savage Tornado (23.5%), Brutal Beatdown (50%), Strength Difference (65%) and Death Blow, a one-use counter that kills instantly (the wiki says it deals 125% instead only on a private server with a health multiplier).
What the wiki notes
- Fifth playable character, based on Metal Bat (Bad) from One Punch Man; originally called Adrenaline Demon until the name changed on October 1 2023.
- Adrenaline Rush converts taken damage into ultimate energy (about 50%), but Pumped Up needs 420 damage instead of the standard 350 (the Strongest Hero page says 450).
- Wiki trivia: slowest M1 rate in the game and the only character with a finisher for its M1 string; as of the July 2025 update its M1s are slightly faster.
- Most attacks ignore block and do not penalize the user when blocked, so they can start combos; the cost is long recovery on a miss, and Foul Ball's projectile has the longest base-move end lag.
- Death Blow is a one-time-use counter with I-Frames during its cutscene; if nobody hits the user it turns into a crater slam (up to 45%) that breaks armor.
- Savage Tornado and Brutal Beatdown pair well (reliable unblockable damage, relatively short cooldowns) and both wind-ups can be cancelled into Death Blow.
- Cons listed by the wiki: long cooldowns on base and ultimate skills, low base skill damage (10%~17%), and not beginner-friendly.
- Characters page ranks its basic-moveset total at 61.4 damage (9th of the ranked list).
Brutal Demon techs
- Homerun LoopDo Homerun and hold jump. As soon as you touch your opponent with the jump, catch them with a forward dash.
- Versatile SlamAfter a full M1 string or Beatdown, side dash away as far as possible from the opponent or backdash, then face them and use Grand Slam as quickly as possible. The opponent must be ragdolled.
- Foul Ball ReboundAfter dealing 4 M1s, or 3 M1 Downslam, immediately use Foul Ball over them and turn around quickly.
- Foul HomerunImmediately after Foul Ball, Side Dash and use Homerun facing the player. Alternatively, use a Side Dash and a Back Dash Cancel.
- Batter's PitchUse Foul Ball on a trashcan so that when you hit the ground, the trashcan gets bounced with you on top of it.
- Foul SpinbackPress 4 (Foul Ball) and turn 100+ (aim for 180) degrees around while in the air with shift lock, as soon as you hit the ground you can throw the rock in any direction.
- Chicken JockeyFirst, ragdoll your opponent via 4m1, downslam, or mini-uppercut. Then, side dash away from the opponent and use Homerun. Then, quickly use beatdown.
- Inescapable GrabSimilar to a M1 Extend, deal 2 M1s and side-dash + m1 and use Foul Ball's grab on the opponent.
Where the wiki disagrees
- Awakening meter: the Brutal Demon page says Pumped Up needs 420 damage (350 +20%, in the passive row and in Cons), while The Strongest Hero page says the standard is 350 'except Brutal Demon, which requires 450'. Field uses 420 (own page).
- Old awakening name: Characters page writes 'Fightin' Spirit', Awakening page writes 'Fighting Spirit'.
- Strength Difference: its table row gives cooldown 62 Seconds (20 Seconds if missed), but the Cons section calls it one of '2 one-time use moves during ultimate (although Strength Difference gives a total of 2 chances if missed)'; the Characters page says only the instant-kill counter is limited to a single use.
- Death Blow: the table lists 125% damage (30% AoE) while the Characters page and categories call it an instant-kill counter; Trivia says it deals 125% instead of an instant death only in a private server with a health multiplier.
- M1 row says the string is three strikes with the last knocking the opponent down, while other sections talk about a 4th M1 that does not knock back and a string that ends with a down slam; the exact hit count is unclear.
