Resumo rápido

Five free Jujutsu Shenanigans characters that suit new players, chosen from wiki HP, damage and cooldown numbers, plus the kits the wiki itself calls hard to learn.

What is the best character for beginners in Jujutsu Shenanigans?

Start with Honored One. It's the free default character, it has 100 HP, it sits in A tier on this site's tier list and the wiki calls its moveset beginner-friendly. For easier combos, Restless Gambler and Locust Guy are the other safe picks. Leave Register, Puppet Master and Lucky Coward for later.

That answer comes from numbers and wiki text, not from a match history. Every figure below is taken from the Jujutsu Shenanigans wiki as it read on 24 outubro 2026: health, the damage and cooldown of each base move, and the pros and cons the wiki writes for every character. The tier list on this site uses the same cooldown and damage numbers, and the character roster has the full kit behind each name here.

How the five picks were chosen

A good first character has to clear three filters, all of them checkable on the wiki.

  • It's free. Early Access characters need a 300 Robux gamepass, so they're out.
  • It has 90 HP or more. Several fighters sit at 85 HP, and Lucky Coward has 65.
  • The wiki's pros and cons describe a kit that forgives mistakes: simple combos, low cooldowns or a safe neutral.

These five are this guia's picks. The third filter is a judgment call on the wiki's wording, so other free characters could fit it too, for example Salaryman, whose wiki page lists slightly low cooldowns and short strong combos. The table shows how they compare on the numbers the tier list uses. "Damage per cooldown second" is the total damage of the counted base moves divided by their total cooldown, and the score multiplies that by HP divided by 100.

CharacterHPCounted damageCounted cooldownDamage per cooldown secondScoreTier
Honored One10052.2566s0.7920.792A
Restless Gambler1004364s0.6720.672B

Sky Assassin1003442s0.8100.810A
True Cannon10051.553.5s0.9630.963S

Sky Assassin's 42 seconds cover three moves, because its first move, Blind Rage, has no single clean damage total. The other four rows count four moves each. The ranking below isn't the score order. It puts the wiki's beginner language first, then the raw strength.

1. Honored One

Honored One is free, it's what every new account starts with, and the wiki's first listed advantage is "Beginner-friendly moveset that works with most playstyles."

SlotMoveDamageCooldown
1Lapse Blue12.513s
2Reversal Red12.520s
3Rapid Punches17.2515s
4Twofold Kick1018s

The special, Limitless, costs 6% of your Awakening bar and has a 15 second cooldown. The wiki says Limitless and Reversal Red can start combos or mixups from range, or safely bait a ragdoll cancel. A route it lists for 74.25 damage runs 3 M1s into an uppercut or downslam, then Twofold Kick, Rapid Punches, Reversal Red, Lapse Blue and Limitless, with a side dash after Reversal Red when the target would otherwise drift out of Lapse Blue's range.

The first two listed downsides are early-fight ones. Limitless spends Awakening, so before the bar builds you're limited and pushed into M1 trades. Lapse Blue and Face Grater both throw the enemy far, which makes extending hard. Awakening swaps in the Six Eyes moveset, including Hollow Purple at 70 damage on a 40 second cooldown, and Infinite Void at the end of the kit. You can learn all of that later; the base kit is enough to fight with.

2. Restless Gambler

The wiki's first advantage for Restless Gambler is "Easy-to-learn combos for beginners or casual players." That's a direct endorsement for newcomers.

SlotMoveDamageCooldown
1Reserve Balls7.512s
2Shutter Doors815s
3Rough Energy12.514s
4Fever Breaker1523s

Door Guard is the special, with a 16 second cooldown and 5 damage on a melee hit. One of the listed base combos does 68.5: 3 M1s into an uppercut, Fever Breaker, the Reserve Balls variant, 3 M1s into a downslam, then Rough Energy. The wiki notes each Reserve Balls bounce can line up an M1 if you jump.

Two things to know. The base block-breakers are slow and punishable with little reward, and the Jackpot in its awakening depends on RNG. The Idle Death Gamble awakening heals 15 HP and lasts 80 seconds, though the page adds that it breaks after 4 scenarios. The domain expansions page covers the full rules.

3. Locust Guy

Locust Guy has 90 HP and no awakened moveset, only a single awakening attack. For a newcomer that's a feature: there are fewer systems to learn. The wiki says "One of the easiest combos in the game" and calls the base moveset strong, with good combo potential and mobility.

SlotMoveDamageCooldown
1Clever14.2 if all hits land15s
2Black Mucus817s
3Crushing Jaws1617s
4Wing Throw815s

The shortest listed route, M1 then Clever, 3 M1s and Crushing Jaws, does 43.2 and the wiki says it can't be escaped. A longer route goes 3 M1s into an uppercut, Directed Poison, Wing Throw, Clever, 3 more M1s and Crushing Jaws, and totals 152.2. Directed Poison is the awakening: 90 damage over time at 9 per second.

The weaknesses sit in neutral. Long cooldowns plus endlag on a miss or block push you toward M1s, and Directed Poison kills slowly, so a target can out-heal it with an awakening or a soda. The wiki's Tips and Techs page also names Locust Guy as a beneficiary of uppercut surfing, an advanced move that starts air combos without spending a move.

4. Sky Assassin

Cooldowns are the point of Sky Assassin. The wiki's first advantage is that they're low across the board, and the numbers back it: 12s, 15s and 15s on the three counted moves, plus 15s on Blind Rage and 8s on the Sky Veil special.

SlotMoveDamageCooldown
1Blind Rage5 for grab, 4 for toss15s
2Sky Distortion1012s
3Turbulence1015s
4Thin Ice Breaker1415s

It's base-only, so the awakening is Temper, a single move that the wiki lists at 80 damage. Temper heals whether or not it lands. The cost: outside Temper, the wiki says Sky Assassin struggles against passive players because it has no safe block breaker, and air combos are risky since you take heavy damage if the opponent evades. Temper can also be interrupted while activating, and its bar drains by itself if you stop dealing damage.

5. True Cannon

True Cannon tops the site's tier list with 0.963 damage per cooldown second, mostly thanks to Granite Blast, which has a 0.5 second cooldown.

SlotMoveDamageCooldown
1Granite Blast5.50.5s
2Unsatisfied1820s
3Second Helping1215s
4Appetizer1618s

The wiki says Granite Blast's short cooldown gives high DPS in base, and that you can play at range, especially with the hold variant. The catch is Overheat. It sharply cuts your damage: you lose the first move entirely, and the fourth loses half its damage. Restyle, the special, leaves you open. The true awakening needs a specific Overheat window with no accurate indicator, and failing leaves you with a full Overheat bar. That's a lot of system for a first hour, which is why True Cannon sits fifth here despite the S tier. Pick it once you can already hold your own in M1 trades.

Characters to leave for later

The wiki is blunt about who is hard to play. These are its own words, shortened.

CharacterHPWhat the wiki says
Register100"Very challenging to learn at first, especially for new players". Each move's keybind keeps changing
Puppet Master85Absolute is hard to reach, because you have to fill energy reserves that are lost on death
Lucky Coward65Some simple combos can drain all its HP
Head of the Hei90You must win several interactions before you can start proper combos
Black Death100Lasting damage is hard to come by. The site rates it D tier at 0.200
Disaster Plants100No traditional front dash and only one M1
Aspiring Mangaka85Relies on long combos for significant damage, with punishable endlag

Vessel, Ten Shadows, Puppet Master and Aspiring Mangaka share the 85 HP tier, and the 90 HP group is Cursed Partners, Defense Attorney, Head of the Hei and Locust Guy. Lower HP means a thinner margin for early mistakes.

Some characters aren't open to a free account in normal play: Hired Killer needs the 300 Robux Early Access pass, Mahoraga and The Fallen are secrets earned in a match, Monkey Kid is limited to private servers (and Tester+), Strongest Of History is limited to private servers with the Overpowered setting and to the Roulette Final Showdown boss slot, Mokou and Super TZE are developer-only, and Cursed Child is currently unavailable. Crow Charmer, Head of the Hei, Hired Killer and Register aren't ranked because their kits lack simple damage figures.

Four habits that matter more than your pick

The wiki's Tips and Techs page puts the same advice in different words, and most of it applies to every character.

  • Neutral is won by M1 trading. The wiki says ping, reaction speed and tracking matter far more than M1 speed passives.
  • Don't waste your ragdoll cancel. Dashing away the moment you're ragdolled is, in the wiki's words, a really good way to waste it, and being without it leaves you open to long combos.
  • Don't whiff a forward dash into a block. If you expect the block, turn around while travelling, because the endlag is huge.
  • Start M1ing while your opponent is launched, then downslam them as they fall. It gives them more evasive meter, so use it when the damage matters.

The game's Roblox description lists the base controls: M1 for the combo, 1 to 4 for skills, Q to dash (and to escape stun), F to block, R for the special, W twice to sprint and G to awaken. The Settings menu has a Keybinds option if the defaults don't suit your keyboard.

To practice any of the five, a private server is free to buy and has a V shortcut that resets all your cooldowns, which turns a 20 second Reversal Red wait into zero. Dummies spawned from the private server menu don't respawn on their own.

FAQ

What is the best free character for beginners in Jujutsu Shenanigans?

Honored One. It's the default character, has 100 HP, sits in A tier and the wiki calls the moveset beginner-friendly. Restless Gambler and Locust Guy are the wiki's easiest-combo picks.

Which character has the easiest combos?

The wiki says Locust Guy's combos are among the easiest in the game, and that Restless Gambler has easy-to-learn combos for beginners or casual players. Locust Guy has 90 HP, Restless Gambler has 100.

Is True Cannon good for beginners?

It's the strongest character on the site's numbers, at 0.963 damage per cooldown second and S tier. The Overheat system and an awakening window with no accurate indicator make it harder to play well, so most new players are better off starting elsewhere.

Which characters should beginners avoid?

Register, whose wiki page calls it very challenging to learn at first, plus Puppet Master, Lucky Coward at 65 HP and Head of the Hei. All four are free but ask for more setup, more care or more interactions won.

Do I need Early Access to play a good beginner character?

No. All five picks in this guia are free. The 300 Robux Early Access gamepass only unlocks in-development characters like Hired Killer.

How is the beginner ranking decided?

By free access, HP of 90 or more and the wiki's own pros and cons, with the tier list score (damage per cooldown second multiplied by HP divided by 100) as a second check. It doesn't use match results.
