Tips & Strategy(8)

  • โ—The abilities of Gambler are mostly solo-based abilities and most of them won't affect team gameplay.
  • โ—‹The Level 2 Perk is an immensely good perk, as it increases the chance of getting upgrades by 20%. (-10% downgrade chance, +10% upgrade chance), as well as being mostly easy to complete โ€” requiring the player to open 70 chests, which, with the incentive to already open many to get great items, makes it easy to complete in a few runs.
  • โ—‹The Level 3 Perk, in contrast, is more difficult to obtain, and is definitely not as good in return. All it does is provide a percent chance to obtain Mossy Coins, which also by itself do not improve gameplay โ€” only being able to be used on the Furniture Trader. Unless the player wishes to build a good-looking base, this perk is not very useful.
  • โ—This class is immensely good at getting great gear, as it can get highly valuable items such as the Strong Axe from an Iron Chest, and even Ruby Chest items from Gold Chests.
  • โ—Ruby Chest can not be downgraded through Gambler's perk or vice versa.
  • โ—Whenever a Ruby Chest is opened by a player, it downgrades to a Gold Chest to other players. By letting a teammate open a Ruby Chest and then the Gambler open the now Gold Chest, there will be a 60% chance of getting double the amount of loot from Ruby Chests.
  • โ—For some reason when it rolls a downgrade, it is still possible to get loot that can only spawn in the pre-downgrade chest. For example a Strong Axe from a downgraded Legendary Chest.

Gambler โ€” In-Depth Analysis

The Gambler costs 55 Diamonds and starts you with 1 Random Item โ€” a perfect thematic fit for a class built entirely on chance and loot manipulation. Instead of gathering or fighting better, you bend the odds of what comes out of chests, making it a true treasure-hunter's pick.

The perk curve is front-loaded toward power. Level 1 gives a flat 50/50 chance to upgrade or downgrade a standard chest on opening. Level 2 is the real prize, shifting that to a 60/40 split in your favour โ€” a 20-point swing that meaningfully tilts your luck, and one that is easy to unlock since opening chests is something you want to do anyway. Level 3 adds only a 10% chance for chests to also drop coins, which is the weakest step since those Mossy Coins mostly fund cosmetic Furniture Trader purchases rather than survival gear.

Pick the Gambler if you love high-roll loot runs and chasing rare gear like Strong Axes out of lower-tier chests. Note its perks are largely solo-focused and barely touch team play. A clever trick: let a teammate open a Ruby Chest (which downgrades to Gold for you), then open that Gold Chest at 60/40 for a shot at doubled Ruby-tier loot.
