Chick — In-Depth Analysis

The Chick is a curiosity rather than a combatant. Its stats tell the whole story: it deals 0 damage, moves at a brisk walkspeed of 16, and is listed with Infinity HP, which is the game's way of saying it simply cannot be killed. It is the second animal in 99 Nights in the Forest that refuses to die, so any weapon you swing at it is wasted effort.

Because it is Passive and harmless, the Chick poses zero threat at any point in a run, day or night. It also has no drops whatsoever, so there is no loot incentive to interact with it on a combat level. Think of it as scenery with a heartbeat rather than a resource.

What it can offer is companionship and presence around camp: the Chick can be tamed for just 1 carrot, the same cheap cost as a Bunny. Since it never produces meat or materials, taming is purely for the novelty of having a tiny, indestructible follower trotting alongside you. Do not expect it to fight, defend the campfire, or feed your survivors; the Chick is a decorative tame, best ignored unless you specifically want one as a pet.
