Fallen Log

The Fallen Log is a Miscellaneous-type location in 99 Nights in the Forest, a hollowed, toppled tree trunk that doubles as a tiny searchable container. It is one of the ambient props that dot the forest floor, the kind of thing easy to walk straight past unless you have learned that even the scenery here can be looted.

Despite its modest size, the Fallen Log draws from the standard structure pool of Fuel, Scrap, Special items, and Mossy Coins. That is the same reward set you get from far larger buildings, which is exactly why it is worth a moment of your time, you might pull a Special or a handful of coins from what looks like pure decoration. Yields are small and not guaranteed, so think of it as a roadside snack rather than a meal.

In terms of danger, the log itself is completely passive, with no inhabitants lurking inside or around it. The only meaningful risk is the same one that applies to all open-forest looting: getting caught out in the open at night when wolves roam. Tap it as you pass during the day, pocket whatever it gives, and never go out of your way for it.
