Cardboard 'Armor'

Cardboard 'Armor' protects you from long-ranged Twisted attacks, once per floor. The data lists nine Ranged Twisteds: Bassie, Blot, Gigi, Goob, Razzle & Dazzle, Rodger, Scraps, Sprout and Squirm, out of 42 in the roster. Against the rest it does nothing, so the Trinket is only as good as your knowledge of who is on the floor, and a cardboard shield that works one time per floor will not save you from a second hit.

It has the heaviest unlock of any Store Trinket: 2750 Ichor plus 100% Research on two Rare Twisteds, Goob and Scraps. That overlap gives you more than the shield, because Goob's Research also unlocks Friendship Bracelet and Scraps's unlocks Crayon Set, so the grind pays for three Trinkets at once. Both Rares have a spawn weight of 10 out of 110 at the start, so the Research takes longer than for a Common.

It was added on September 28, 2024, alongside Lucky Coin, Megaphone and Water Cooler (the earlier name of Cooler). It is on sale now, and it suits players who already know which Twisted types they struggle with, such as Sprout's ranged attacks on a Main-heavy floor.
