Chinook Salmon guide

Chinook Salmon is an Autumn-only catch from Terrapin Island, taken with Minnow as bait. That calendar limit is the most important fact about it: miss the season and the fish is simply not there. It is an Unusual, averaging 24.7 kg and reaching 38.1 kg, and it sells for an average of C$148.2 at C$6 per kilogram, with 100 base XP.

The weight is where it stands out. Its maximum of 38.1 kg ranks 343rd of 663, so it is on the heavy side of the pack. The price is a different story: average value ranks 541st of 742 documented fish, because the per-kilogram rate is only C$6. Heavy, but cheap by the kilo.

Redeye Bass is the other Unusual in the same zone, so the island gives you two similar catches. Two rods are sold there, the Magnet Rod and the Wildflower Rod. The wiki notes that King Salmon are common in ocean waters and migrate to Terrapin Island in Autumn to lay eggs.

Verdict: fish for it in Autumn if you are already on the island and carry Minnow. A single sale is modest, and a heavy fish will not change your income. Do not travel just for it unless you are completing your log.
