Coral Geode guide

Bring a Magnet if you want a Coral Geode: it is an Uncommon catch in the Desolate Deep that uses Magnet as bait. The wiki describes it as a geode filled with dark items and fish, untouched for years, with a nod to a coral-reef Christmas.

It is a lightweight, low-value find. It averages 18 kg (10.8 kg to 28.8 kg) and its listed average value is C$200, which ranks 486th of the 742 documented fish. Its maximum weight is 365th of 663. Base XP is only 20, so it will not help you level. The one thing it offers is a steady, cheap sale for something you can fish up while using a bait you probably already carry.

Phantom Ray is the other Uncommon fish recorded for Desolate Deep, so those two make up the zone's lower tier. The rods sold there, Reinforced Rod and Trident Rod, are the natural pair for working the area. Verdict: it is fine as a bit of pocket change when you are already in the Desolate Deep for something rarer, but it is not worth building a trip around.
