Rockstar Hermit Crab guide

Two lightning-bolt antennae give the Rockstar Hermit Crab its name, and it is described as a unique evolutionary offshoot of a plain hermit crab. The entry also notes it can be caught with rods or crab cages in the Desolate Deep. It is an Unusual fish that accepts any bait at any time of day, appears in Foggy weather, and is available in Spring and Summer.

It is tiny: 0.4 kg at minimum, 2.4 kg at most, 0.8 kg on average. At C$55 per kg an average catch sells for C$44, with 75 base XP. That ranks it 666th of the 742 documented fish by average value and 592nd of 663 by maximum weight. In practical terms, it is one of the lowest-value Unusual catches in its tier.

Cockatoo Squid is the other Unusual fish in the Desolate Deep. The zone sells Reinforced Rod and Trident Rod.

What matters here is flexibility. Because bait and time of day do not matter, you can catch it whenever Foggy weather rolls in during Spring or Summer, with no preparation. The earnings are minimal, so it is a good fish to sell quickly. If you are in Desolate Deep for a better target, a Rockstar Hermit Crab is a harmless bonus that costs you nothing extra.
