Lithodes Megacantha guide
Lithodes Megacantha is a spiny crimson crab scuttling in crab cages, armored in jagged spines, and one of the best-paying catches you can plan for. It is an Exotic fish of Crimson Cavern that bites on Weird Algae in Foggy weather, at Night, in Spring.
Look at the price: an average Lithodes sells for C$26,666.70, which ranks 71st of the 742 documented fish by average value. It weighs only 10 kg on average, with a maximum of 31.5 kg (353rd of 663), so the price per kg equals the whole sale, C$26,666.70. It also gives 22,000 base XP. Few fish combine this much coin and XP at such a low weight.
Colossal Ancient Dragon is the other Exotic fish of the same zone. Crimson Cavern sells the Evil Pitchfork, Scarlet Spincaster Rod, Ruinous Oath and Wicked Fang Rod, so gear is waiting on site. The conditions are strict, with weather, hour and season all required, so the catch rate will test your patience. But if you are choosing where to spend a session, this fish makes the case for a Foggy, Spring night in Crimson Cavern. Keep it for XP or sell it for a large payout; either way it is worth the wait.
