Magma Leviathan guide

Mariana's Veil is the only place that gives you Magma Leviathan, and it asks for a tight set of conditions: Truffle Worm bait, Day, Foggy weather and Summer. The listing describes a behemoth of the volcano depths whose scales heat the water into steam.

It is an Exotic catch of 6,000 to 30,000 kg, averaging 10,000 kg, with a maximum weight of 70 of 663. At C$1.786 per kg, an average fish sells for C$17,857, rank 92 of the 742 documented fish. The 12,000 base XP is the real draw, as it lets one catch move you a long way.

Crowned Anglerfish, Crystallized Seadragon and Frozen Leviathan share its rarity and zone. That means a cast that meets the Magma Leviathan conditions can still bring one of the other three, so budget for several attempts. No rod is listed for sale in Mariana's Veil, so bring your own.

Verdict: a worthwhile Exotic if you already work Mariana's Veil. Plan the trip for a foggy summer day, load Truffle Worm and be patient. Because the price is solid but not extreme, you can sell it without regret, though the XP alone justifies the effort for most anglers.
