Blue Whale guide

Blue Whale is one of the heaviest catches in the data: an Exotic fish in The Ocean with a Hunt fish tag, weighing 130,000 kg at minimum, 215,000 kg on average and up to 736,000 kg. That puts its maximum 30th of 663 fish with a recorded maximum. To catch it you need Shrimp bait and Summer; no weather or time of day is listed. The wiki describes a massive whale, often seen in cold waters during feeding season.

Size does not translate into an equally huge sale. The average value is C$21,500, which is 77th of 742 documented fish, still a strong result, with a large 25,000 base XP.

Blobfish and Orca are the other Exotic fish in the same zone, so the Ocean has a few big Exotic targets on the same Hunt list. The Blue Whale is one of the easier ones to plan for, because the bait and season are the only requirements.

My advice: go for it if you are looking for a high-XP catch and your rod can handle a very heavy fish. The sale is worth taking when you need funds, but the XP alone makes the hunt worth it.
